Hi, I'm Ankur Gurung, a passionate visual storyteller from Nepal, specializing in photography, videography, and film production. With a sharp eye for detail and a deep love for capturing raw, authentic moments, I bring stories to life—whether through a single frame or a moving sequence.
Over the years, I've honed my skills not just behind the lens but also behind the scenes as a Second Unit Director and Assistant Director. My experience on set has taught me the art of collaboration, timing, and how to translate vision into reality—be it for a documentary, music video, commercial, or feature film. Filming
Filmmaking in Nepal involves three primary stages: Pre-production, Production, and Post-production. In Pre-production, tasks such as script finalization, casting, location scouting, and assembling the crew are completed. Production is the phase where the actual filming takes place, including setting up equipment and recording scenes. Post-production involves editing the footage, adding sound and visual effects, and preparing the final version of the film.
To film in Nepal, obtaining a filming permit is mandatory. The process requires submitting various documents to the Ministry of Information and Communications, including an application form with a postal stamp fee, a synopsis of the film, crew details with passport information, a filming itinerary, and an equipment list for customs clearance. Additional permits may be necessary if filming in specific areas such as heritage sites, national parks, or conservation areas. A liaison officer appointed by the government will oversee the filming process to ensure compliance with local regulations.
